Chisasibi Week Tweleve: Day 3: Sept 25: Post Sercerts, and Guests

I woke up at 7:30am, and ate some bread with butter and chocolate chips, then went back to bed. I woke up again at 11am because some kids were yelling out front. I read manga on the computer till lunch, which was crepes again. Then Catherine, Gordon, Talia  and Chris all went to do the gorcery shopping while the others did the daily tasks. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom, and even bleached and scrubbed the shower cuirtain, and I actually managed to get most of the pink stuff off!!!! ^//^ YEAH! After that I read my Bible again, I don't think I'll finish it while on Katimavik, I'm still in Leviticous! T.t......

Later, Michelle and I read some managa on Talia's laptop and I found out we had a book called "Post secerts: a life time of secerts" ion the house. I read it, and OMGZZZ,  some of those were so sad!!! Some hwere just plain weird, but wow, talk about an inside look at the human experiance! O.o If youever get the chance, I recommend reading it!

Sang out back for a bit.

Dinner was bannock taccos, with home made salsa, and there was oroogala salade. Colette had helped cooked the bannock, so that Brandon could teach her how to make it. It was funny too, because she has the same gray Chisasibi pants that I do, and we were both wearing them! XD After dinner I went out back and sang again, till it got really dark out. Lady started fighting with a cat too. When I went back inside, I found that JAck and Elizabeth had come over with their kids. They invited us to attend a blanket ceremony, for those who missed the shake tent ceremony, but I can't do (Moon Time). I am veyr thankful I made the sweat yesterday! >//<

THen we had a reflection on the competancies. We made a chart poster thing, and we laughed a bunch near the end. I talked with bRAndon about some stuff related to CCK and the committees. Then tried calling Dad,but he didn't pic up, so I journaled and tryed again later, but still no answer, so then I tryed Mom, but nothing.

I ate some bannock with butter and jam, then had a cup of tea. I talked some more with Brandon, and then Dad called back, and I got to talk to him, Dawson and Mom. I love tea. >//<

Chisasibi Weel Twelve: Day 2: Sept 24: Debrife! and The Last Sweat

I got up at 7:30am, ate some left over breakfast sasuage, and went ot make some bread, but because there was a risk of the water being contamiated (from river) I boilded it. I didn't wait long enough for it to cool back down though, and I think I must have killed the yeast. .....oops. I ate some yogrut with a plum and some gramm cracker crumbs in it, which was very tasty. Then I went on the computer for a bit.

At 9am, Michelle woke up, and she, Chris and I  all hopped in the van to go get water from a natural spring that was 40km away. (We had to get speacial primission from head office because it was so far, but they approved it due to the circumstances.) Catherine was going to come, but then she slept in.

I really enjoyed the trip though. Chris even took Michelle and I for a little bonus, but that's a secert. ;) (It was so sweet though!!!!!! XD) The well we went to was an Artision well, which was basically a pipe sticking out of a hill, with water constantly coming out of it. It was so cool!!!!! XD Literaly too!!! I stuck my head under and had a drink, it was so refreshing!!!!! I slpashed my face too, and OMGZZZZZZ there is nothing like it!!! WE filled up two big containers, and then a couple small jars. And I don't know about you, but I loved that exprienace, it was epic! XD

On the ride back, I sat shotgun, and the three of us had some pretty good discussion.

WHen we got home, it was obvious that my bread did NOT rise, and wasn't going to. So I just baked it into a kind of flat bread thingy. For lunch, we had Mac and cheese, and there was also the leftover mushroom pork and leftover hashbrowns. GOrdon and I did lunch dishes.

After lunch, CHris persented us with his de-brife scheduale, and after some discussion, we did our reflection for CCK that after noon. It envolved us drawing pictures about what CCK had been, what it was now, and what we hoped it would be, or "awesome" vs. "not awesome". We were put in groups, I was with Brandon and Vincent, and we each did our own sets. Mine was all about bread, considering my fail from that morning. I think my pics came out pretty good though. I didn't think CCK had ever been awesome yet though, so I titled the 1st picture "not awesome" and it was dead bread and some pieces of carcol, which might have been cookies, and two people crying. It was also drawn with very drak colours. The 2nd picture was titled "slightly less not awesome" or "aka better" and that was a picture was of two loavs of bread, which you could at least eat, the two poeple weren't crying, and there was a littel more colour envovled. The last piture was "The futrue? AWESOME!!!!!" and had two beautiful loavs of bread, some bannopck, some cookies, and some pie. There were tons of colours, and a TON of poeple all ready to party! XD

(The reason I explained the pics was 'cause I liked them, but let Chris keep them.)

After wards, everybody went over what they had drawn. There were some very......interesting contirbutions.
Then I tired making some more bread. While it was rising I went out back and sang. WhenI went in to check the bread, I went out front after, because Justin was meditating in the back............yeah. I mean, this group is great and all, but it would be kind of neat if when you went to the next community you got a whole new group of people. I snacked on the 1st batch of bread.

Dinner was rice, stry-fired veggies, and chicpea salade. I did some prep-work, and then the group left for our activity -the last sweat in Chisasibi.

This sweat was very, intence, I think God might have actually spoke to me. .......If you wantto know more I'll tell you in person, because I don't really want to post the details. This sweat was definetly the hottest I'd been to, and I still never laid dwon during a round. CAtherine and MIchelle both recived their spriti names.

When we got home, Brandon had cooked my bread for me (I think he stayed home 'cause he was sick....) but it had a HUGE air bubble in the top.......it looked really funny......I ate some bread with butter ans chocolate chips, had a shower, then ate some maccaroni.

Chisasibi Week Twelve: Day 1: Sept 23: The Water Shortage and The Big Shut Down

Got up at 7 am and had a shower. Ate some yogurt with rice crispies and some bread with cream cheese. I decided I would buy my lunch at the take-out place in the mall, because the fridge was so packed with food I was very thrilled about, and I didn't feel like scroungiung around.

At work, I started by scanning the ISBN numbers on a whole bunch of books (finally! more work!), and I was planning to finish the magazines in the afternoon, but at 10am we where told to go home because they were closing the school. Now, the reason for this was because the resivoir was draining, (which ment there was a leak somewhere) so the town was now on a water shortage, and when that happens, all public bulidings must be closed due to safety reason. (eg. no fire sprinklers) We also learned that ONCE the leak is found and fixed (who knows how long that will take) it will then take 3 days for the resivoir to fill up again.

When I got home, I learned that Chisasibi's Got Talent(CGT) was also "postphoned" because, of course, we were going to be using a public space. I was also really lucky in regards that I had a shower that morning, and washed my sheets right before we heard on the radio that we weren't supposed to do laundry, or have shower, or use dishwasher, etc.

It was really hard on us that CGT got postphoned, we even thought we might have to cancel it! Luckily, while I was blogging (not this entery), some of the others in teh group went out with Pauline and sold the fuirt smoothy cups we had made, so they didn't go to waste and we were able to make some porfit even! I think....*shrugs*

But yeah, backtracking a little, on my way home from work I bought two butter trats at the general store (no raisins! >//<) and then when I got home, I blogged TEN enteries!!!! TEN!!!!!!! I am still three weeks behind though (I don't even know how that happened T.t) I also swept and cleaned both bathrooms before I sat down at the computer. We had crepes for lunch, some sweet, some savoury. Then I was really litless, and couldn't settle on naything to do, so I sat in the closet and texted Mom. (.......yes, I sat in a closet, it was actually very cozy XP)

We had cerpes again for dinner, and I made some snowflakes out of paper. Michelle and I noticed we were running low on the water we had quickly got that morning from the tape, so she and I took and pot and hiked dwon to the river, filled it, and hiked back carring it between the two of us. We also had a dog escort the inter way. XD BAck at the house, I put my sheets on my bed, then Michelle and I read "The Bride of the Water God" together. I remeber why I liked that one now >.<

THen I ate the last of the yogurt with cronflakes. XP

Chisasibi Week Eleven: Day 7: Sept 22: Mailing Take2 and Mini-Concerts

( Brandon says Rawr! and LOL XP )

I woke up at 7:30am, and ate puuffed rice with yogurt and bread with cream cheese. THen set out to work while carring my box! Michelle carried it for me  for a bit so I could rest my arms. >//<

Moring work was slow. I ended up staying in the library while others made Trukish bagels with Tony again. I brought WAY to much spaghetti for lunch, so I left half for after work, but I ended up eating half a bagel anyway. They were HUGE!!!!! I gave the other half to Naydine, she liked it. ^//^ After lunch, I started working on reorganizing and "eliminating" magazines, which was a BIG task for the secondary section. Espicially for the ones like The Economist, who have multiple releases per month. I did quite a bit though, I only have to more shevling units to do tomorrow!

After work, Talia went over to commericail center with me, so she couls walk home with after I mailed my package. We ran into Cindy, and I waited for an hour but I got to mail my package! I weighted 6kg and cost $23.06, which wasn't to bad at all!!!!!! O.o

When we got home (safely) I went out back and sung a bit while petting Lady.

Dinner was breakfast. We had grated potato hashbrowns, baccon, oranges, sasuages, bread with cream cheese and eggs.

I went out back in bear feet again, and ran into some neighbourhood girls who were trying to retrun a "lost" dog. They were having tourble walking it, so I took over and went with them. As we got up to the house, it's owner actually pulled up in a truck and told us the dog was "not lost" but that they let her roam. When I got home, I listened to my MP# player and sketched a bit.

Then the group did some prep for Chisasibi's Got Talent tomorrow. We partciced the song too. Two locqal men also came over to visit, and for some reason, I ended up singing "You are my Sunshine" for/with them. I also sang a church song for Cindy, who said something about me sounding like Mandy Moore. >//<

Chisasibi Week Eleven: Day 6: Sept 21: Almost Mugged, Beading and My Box

I got up at 7 am, showered, and had puffed rice (I think with yogurt.......?) and eggbread with butter for breakfast. I worked on my beading, but got a little too caught up in it so left a little bit late. My MP3 didn't charge porperly either, so no music on the way to work. T.t

Work was slow AGAIN!!!!!!  I printed some stuff off, which invovled using the memeory stick and going to the computer lab upstairs because the library computer ran out of ink.......we are very low on supplies....-.-
It truned out to by a 1/2 Ped Day at the school though (like a Pro-D day), so after lunch, which was rice with chicken and an orange, I spent the afternoon reparingbooks. AND I had to reshelve ALL the books the pre-Ks took off the shelves. What a mess! >.< Oh, there was also a meeting, so when it was done, I had to put the chairs back, and I spent WAY to much time doing it. But I did end up making really cool Polygon-based shapes! XD I made a gaint triangle, a long rectangle, a circle (well, not really) and an inverted circle. ^//^ It was pretty fun. I also set up the chairs so that they were in ratios by colour, because there were some that were yellow, and some that were brown.

On the walk home, I was "cornored" or stopped by the side of the road by two young looking guys. And I KNERW they were scketchy!! I wanted to pass them as we were crossing the road so I wouldn't have to talk to them, but I ended up stopping to tie my shoes, and then a car came at the wrong time, so I was cuaght standing at the edge of the road when they crossed over.

Their names were JAmes and Laurance, and I don't know if they were drunk or high or WHAT! BUt I felt harrassed. Not to mentined offened!!!  (I feel awful just typing it up and having to read about it again.....ick...) The James guy kept swearing his head off and saying B*** He wanted to call out "all dem Katima- B***s, and said that we (Katimavik) needed to get out of town and "disappear," To which I said that we were in fact leaving in 2 weeks-ish (but I didn't mention the new group, oh, and because I am so far behind, I can also tell you that one of the guys in the group after us got mugged.....so.....yeah....) James also said something about slapping the A****s of B****s and at that point, he was in my space. Laurauance also said some stuff about a gang raising up soon. I finally got away, saying that I'd be late for dinner, but I almost stepped right out in front of a car.

I was desperate though, they were completely in my space, LAurance in my face and James coming up behind me. I was so tempted to smack James one with my metal water bottel, which I had in fact started carrying in case I needed to hit anyone. Luckily it didn't come to that.

Right after I got home, and I guess I looked pissed when I came in, 'cause people where asking me questions right away, I talked to Brandon about it, then to Chris. I felt a lot better after talking about it. I told CHris about it also as a safety thing (which didn't seem to accomplish much......-.-" Not that it's Chris' fault someone got mugged! Not by any means!!!) And it was funny too, 'cause Brandon said, "Step out and have a smoke with me." He totally sounded like a counciler when he said it too!! XD

Gordon and I did dishes togeher, so I got to listen to Florance and the Machine!!!! XD Then I had some hybiscous tea.

I finished my beading! XD Yeah! I had some hot chocolate, and ate more egg-bread with buuter!

Then I called Mom. I also tried calling Dad at Young Adults but with no luck. T.t So Mom called the buliding, and told Crystal to tell Dad to call me. BUt he never called back. After that I helped CAtherine seam-ripe her moccasins (without a seam ripper!) because she sewed something on backwrads.....which as kinda my bad for not giving enough instruction....?

I also put my box on the table after dinner so that everyone could sign/draw on it! >.< Chris even drew a picture! Itwas pretty good too! XD Unfortunatly, Talia altered the KAtima-logo, which it specifically says NOT to do, so if I get sued, she'd better be ready to hear some knocking. XP

Dinner was Porkchops with mushroom gravy and rice. It was SO GOOD and helped chree me up SO much! There was also a salade. Michelle also brought home some chocolate cake from work. PUaline ate over with us.

Chisasibi Week Eleven: Day 5: Sept 20: Mailing, and The Final French Activity

Woke up at 7am. Ate cereal with yogurt and added in some wheat grem. Then I tryed some packaged cream of wheat stuff, but it was nasty. I worked on the beading a bit.

I spent the moring at the school working the the backery with the others from the group and Tony. We made 8 loafs of braided egg-bread,4 with poppy sead, and 4 with seasemi seeds. We got to use an industrial dough mixer too! It was super cool! While we were waiting for the bread to rasie, I went and completely re-organized his supplie cupbroads.......  ;D LOL I think I might have OCD.....just a little.

Anywho, we got to eat one loaf fresh out of the oven, with butter, and AHHHHHH!!!!! >//< !!!!!! IT was SO GOOD!!!!!!! I gave a piece to NAydine and she liked it too. Lunch was white rice with cheese and sandwhich meat (ham), which was actually a very statasfying lunch!

Work was SO slow! Being out of barcodes and circulation sheets sucks!!!! T.t Espicially when I know I COULD be doing that work, if only we had the supplies!!!! T.t

After work I mailed Elise's letter, and it only cost me $2!!!!!!!! O.o THAt was so much less than I was expecting!!!! Espicailly since it was international! (........ That's actually the 1st time I mailed a letter at the post office itself......>.<) I do still expect that the package home will be expensive though.

Back Home, I worked on my beading and did some prep for the French Activity. Ate some bread with cream cheese.

Dinner was a Tonnie Thrusday theme thingy. We had some really good chicken with fires, there were also grapes and strawberries, and bread. Jaque from MSDC (CAtherine's Boss) ate with us.

THen there was more prep to do for the French activity, which envolved a lot of tape and cinfusing number orders. XD But CAtherine and I got it all figured out! I think it went SUPER good too, for the energizer and the active treasure hunt bit (So much laughing and running!! XD It was great!) My group finished 1st. XD
At the end, everybody got chocolate.

Unfortunately, Chirs' friend Chris had challengaed us to attend a church group that night,.... dran mandatory french activity! :P

Before going to bed, I started the leaves on my patteren for the beading.

CHisasibi Week Eleven: Day 4: Sept 19: Good-Bye, Memory Stick, and the Final CCK

I got up around 7:30am and cereal with peach yogurt. I went on the come and packed my bag for work.

Work started off pretty slow. It was a block where the libaray was closed, so I was gonna repair books after taking care of some Katima-paper work. While working, I saw Julia go to the office, so I ran over to remind her about getting the song from the radio station (her work placement), only for her to tell me she got kicked out of the porgram that morning. I was shocked! I was just kind of....blank.....I repaired books till lunch when I started top get a bit more energy back.

Lunch was cream cheese with spagehtiiee again, but this time minus the fork....yeah, that was messy. I also ate half a cucmber. I AM SO PSYCHED TO HAVE A MEMORY STICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so awesome! I also wrote a poem-song thing after a really long time of NOT writing and it felt SO GOOD to write again!!

Then I went to the commercial center to look for green beads for my moccasins, but they didn't match the other ones I was using. I didn't mail the letter to Elise either, though I had it on me........>.<

Work was pretty chill that afternoon too. At 2:15pm I went to talk with Tony about the backery tomorrow morning!! BAck at the library, we have TONS of books, but we ran out of barcodes and circulation stickers, so now there's almost no work! T.t

When I got home, I worked on the beading. Dinner was chicken, rice, veggies and salade.

Because we didn't do CCk the night before, we had it now, and I think it went pretty well. It was really fast for a change bacuse we have very littel time left here, so Chris will be planning most of our activities during debrief. During "Chris Talks", he mentionded the stuff about Julia, who had already left the house to go stay with Melony (who she billetted with). During Varia, I told the group about my desier to go to church in Steinbach, and it seemed like everyone would consider it.

Chris was also bugging me about him giving me a CTI (Commeitment to improve -which is icky paper work that you don't want) for being, basically, "awesome". XD LOL

After CCK, Catherine gave me a pancake, which I ate with butter and icing sugar, and there were more jokes made at my expance. Luckily they were cheap! XP (.....if that makes sence...O.o)

Chisasibi Week Eleven :Day 3: Sept 18: 48Hrs Off and Box Prep

Woke up around 8am. I started a batch of bread, washed some dishes, cleaned a bathroom, swept,  anddid a load of laundry. I worked on Elise's letter again, and then re-packed the box I am mailing home to my parents. I also wrote a list that explained every single thing in the box! XD

Then I had a shower. I also ate cereal with yogurt, bread with with icing sugar, bread with PB, and noodles with in this time. (Breakfast AND lunch!) When I finsished my shower, I worked on the beading for my moccasins.

I went out back for a bit, and walked aournd in the sand in my bear feet, which was SUPER fun!!!!! >//< I was wearing my white dress with the butterflys on it too, and it was super windy! XD I was out there for around an 1hr. :P

When I got back inside, I took the box I was gonna mail home and drew pictures one it. The box looked so plain and lonely with just white, so I made it more colourful! XP After that I helped with some planning for the final French Activity we are going to have in Chisasibi.

Dinner was spaghetti with chicken, asperigous, and a dessert cracker thing Julia brought home. I also drank some hot chocolate that Michelle made, which was so good!!! It was also really nice to have so many people at dinner, because it was during the 48hrs, so it wasn't mandatory. The conversation was pretty good.......for the most part..... >.<

Bauze was visiting all day, and I really dislike his swearing. Has he no respect?

The 48hrs off ended after dinner, and we were supposed to have CCK, but Chris had left earlier in the day, so we couldn't start with out him. We worked on our Katima-song instead. I think we got a good amount of work done. After that I did some more beading till 10:40pmish, and I am really happy, because when I started I was worried that it was truning out weird, but now I think it will be okay.
