Chisasibi Week Five: Day 7: Aug 10

Woke up at 6:30am and spent 1/2hr making oatmeal for everyone and setting stuff out on the table (like suryp and stuff), but I think only half the group ate any. So much for rocking the oatmeal once a week to save money.  I ate oatmeal with chcolate chips and puffed rice.

Only Brandon stayed home sick, and Vincent helped clean in the morning, then headed out to work with TMSI.  One of Chris` other  French Nurse friends stopped by, and I tried to clean mold off a shower curtain, with moderate success.

By 12pm, I had done all but 1 daily task, which Talia did, and I couldn`t do the tasks that related directly to dinner.

Lunch was left over bugers with cheese, onion and tomato.

I went for a walk, stopped by the band office and saw the wicker-wooden brids, (very nice) and picked up a monthly national Native newspaper, but I couldn`t find the Cree trappers association room, so i didn`t get to check out their merchandise. Later, I relized I had gone on lunch break, and that`s why the office seemed so empty and quite. After that, I walked over and sat by the Grand River for a bit, lisenting to the stream flow over the rocks. Then there was this bit of a cloud brust, so I started headeding home. Got attacked by the pychso little black dog. Then I went by Kandi`s (the conveaniant store near the house) and bought myself a pop and some Reese candy.

Got home and sat on the back steps to drink my pop. Then I went inside and started making salades for dinner and stuff.  (Since we are going gorcery shopping tmorrow, Chris wants all the porduce used up.) And we had TONS of fruits and veggies leftover. So I was at the cutting broad for 2 1/2hrs while Talia made lemon maragane pie from a box and brownies.  She also took acre of the turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes. On part because I didn`t know how, and on part because I was cutting the whole time!!!!!

Anywho, around 2:30pm there was a thunder storm right out front of the house! And we could actually hear the thunder AND see the lightening. Usually we get one, but not the other.

I really like thunder though, even I used to be scared of it. Now it just makes me think that the sky is really big and cavarenous, but at the same time, it has a place where it ends, and that`s why the sound bounces back. .......I don`t know, it`s hard to explain..........I really like thunder thought!!!! >//<

Oh yeah! And the power went out for 2min. :P

Bouze stopped by the house for a bit.

I used carrots, cheese, and green bell pepper to make the Katimavik logo on the salades. I was so hyped up about it too, but I guess it wasn`t really that impressive.......*shrugs*

There was a bit of a thing with the Trukey, because it was in the freezer until 12:30pmish, when I took it out to thaw. Chris freaked me out by saying that it wouldn`t thaw in time. So I put it in the sink and soaked it in hot water, and weighed it down with a pinapple. (....hey! it worked, okay?) Then I went for my walk.

As things turned out, we ate 1/2 hr early. (See, Chris? we know what we`re doing. XP)

Dinner was roast trukey, gravy, mashed potatos and sweet potatoes, watermelon, veggies-fruit plater, salades and dessert- the lemon maragne pie and the brownies.

Then we had some down time. Gordon got a package from home today, and it had a CD with Bag Pipe music in it!!!! XD So we listened to it for a bit, and I derw a little. Then I helped Michelle and Justin clean up from dinner.

One of Chris` friends (a guy this time ;P) came over, and brought one of his friends (a girl) who was form Manchester England.

Then I went to get ready to go to the Youth Center, and found Cindy and Nathan in bed together. *rolls eyes* They were just cuddling, and had clothes on, but still!!!!!! So much for "amourous relationships not impacting group life." *sighs* Wathcing then is like watching a soap opera.

Anywho, we all got ready to go, except for Brandon and Talia who claimed sick, But when we got to the Youth Center, it was closed. So we went back home and had the games night that we didn`t have the day before. There was even some french.....at the beginning........we tried okay!

But seriously! That makes it like the 5th time we have tried and failed to get to the Youth Center!!!!!!
It`s ridiculous!

Anywho, I learned how to ACTUALY play risk, and had a game with Gordon, Michelle, and Vincent. Gordon pretty much slaughtered everyone else, which isn`t surprising considering that we were all pretty much beginners except him.  After that, I played poker and beat the pants off Brandon and Justin. (Thank you the BackDoor!!!!! XD)

It`s now 20min to 1am.....O.o...........

Chisasibi Week Five: Day 6: Aug 9

So, my alram went off at 6:30am, but I was really tried, so I figured I stay in bed for another 1/2hr. When I got up again, it was already 9:20am......oops.

Anywho, Cindy and Brandon stayed home today Brandon is bascially under house arrest for a week, in hopes he will get better. And when I got up this morning, he had already cleaned up the kitchen for us. >.<

Breakfeast was bread with PB and J.

Then I made the group email, on gmail, complete with spelling mistake. (but hey! its been over 2 weeks and no one else did it! so they can`t complain about a boring name or poor spelling!)

Then I  cleaneed the downstaris bathroom, swept downstaris, did a load of towels, then a load of personal laundry. I also completely cleaned out Gnaraia 1. I even scrubbed down the walls!!!!  (I actually like cleaning, as long as there is actually some dirt to clean, `cause when you see the before and after, I find it really statsfiying.

Lunch was bread with PB, and a small piece with butter and chcolate chips.

After that, I made 4 loaves of bread and cleaned all the chairs. Talia and I started making dinner at 2:30pm, and said we`d serve it at 6:30pm, but the meat ended up taking FOREVER to cook. So we didn`t start to really eat untill 7:40pm.

In fact, the whole dinner affair was just crazy. We thought TMSI was gonna be there, so we made TONS of food, only to be told that they told someone this morning that they wouldn`t be coming to eat. That coupled with  the time lasps, and the fact that the meat wasn`t even well made, (everyone said it was great, but I know it needed at least one more egg and more oatmeal) just made my night a little draining.

But anyway. Dinner was hamburgers (made with oatmeal, ground beef, carrots, onion, bread crumbs ((which we found in a box in the cupbroad.......weird right?)) and eggs.) with all the usual dressing stuff. And i think we had salade..........or fries...........fries I think....... Yeah. yeah! We made sweet potato fries and we had a fruit plater with watermelon, starwberries and oranges.

But, of course, we had tons of leftover food cause TMSI didn`t show up.

After dinner was finally done, I went and crashed on my bed.

We were supposed to have a games night with TMSI, but the activites committee didn`t plan anything, so when TMSI showed up, we just kind of sat around. Then it turned out Chris was going to go fire keep for a sweat, and after a bunch of text messages, 1/2 of our group and half of TMSI took off. I was gonna go, but ended up just staying at the house. We played Apples to apples, until the conversation took a trip to the seuwar, and I got up and left.

I got my player and blasted my tunes, which almost effectively blocked them out. They yelled my name for a bit to try and get my attention, but I ignored them. (Yes, I know I was being childish.) So I cleaned up the kitchen, put leftovers away, did dishes, did laundry, took out the garbage, washed garbage can (weekly task) and journalled.

Now,when TMSI got up to go, I did say bye all civilized like.

Talia and I only have 3 weekly tasks left, (out of 12ish) and its only Wednesday.
Tomorrow I have to get up early though, I do my Oatmeal buffet. XP
Went out back and chatted with Gordon. Chris came home and brought some of his local friends over. They cooked up some medicine for Brandon, and left something else for the rest of the group. I had some, and it was really good. It reminded me of Queenwa....

Then the people on the back deck called us out, claiming they saw a UFO. So we went out side and Chris said it was a helicopter.

okay, so now it`s like 12am, and I really need to go to bed so I can actually get up tomorrow and make oatmeal.

Chisasibi Week Five: Day 5: Aug 8: House Managing!!!!!! (next 6 entries)

Up at 6:30am and had a shower. Made WAY too much oatmeal, but ate it all anyway. Did dishes, and got lecture by Chris, again......Its kind of hard to be a selfless Christain when people keep telling you not too. I mean, I know the others need a chance to "set up", but if they aren`t, isn`t there a point where I can just spet in and be a good Christain? Then again, I don`t really know if doing dishes even has anything to do with being a good Christain...........

Anywho, I just sort of hung arounf the house until every one had left for work. I went on the computer too, blogged some (not this one!) and did some email.

After 3 trys, Talia finally gets up around 9:40am and I start doing the weekly tasks in the kitchen. (cleaning the counters, oven, and cupbroads- unload, clean, reload. as well as sides and tops) Talia started cleanign the frigde (also and unload and reload.)

Now, we may have been just a little ambitious in trying to do the whole kitchen on the same day we had gorcery shopping, but Chris never said anything!!!!! Arg!!!!! The way he comes in after the fact and tells you you did it wrong just bugs me!!!! *deep breath* okay.

For lunch I had the last of the hamburger soup, so it didn`t go to waste. (it was gonna get thrwon out.)  Talia made some tous-qui for eveybody else. there were 4 poeple who stayed home today. Three of them were sick, and the other didn`t have anymore work, like Talia and I.

I feel bad though, `cause both Catherine and Michelle, who stayed home sick, helped us with the daily tasks by cleaning the bathrooms. And it was lucky for us, because we really shouldn`t have tried to do the whole kitchen. And APPERENTLY daily tasks take priority over weekly. But we didn`t know that till after! (Gee Chris, that was helpful! NOT!) Vince helped clean too, he`s the one with no work. Brandon didn`t help, but that`s okay `cause he is super sick with phnomonia.

Anyway, Chris wasn`t even home that mourning, and he didn`t get back till 1:30pm, (oh, and did I mention he shut us down for trying to do an invantory of the kitchen so we could be more organized when we went gorcery shopping? )

But whatever. We finally went shopping, I was super irrated at Chris, because it seemed like everytime I talkeed, he told me I was wrong. And eithout explaining why. I was porbably tried too......*sighs*

Anyway!!! Moving on. Gorecy shopping went okay, but we forgot to buy bananas, sugar, and some otehr thrid thing I can`t remeber.....................................................like legit! I can`t rememebr!

When we got home, Talia and I did a speed un-pack and finished all the daily tasks before anyone got home. (In your face Chris!!!!!!) (okay. okay. don`t get me wrong, he`s a great guy and all. I just have some issues.)

Anywho, Talia started making dinner, and I started a batch of bread then made some salade.  We ended up with plenty of down time before dinner needed to be served, and Chris even admitted he had underestimate our "hard-coreness." XD

There was a bit of a fiasco taday though, when we found that a whole bunch of dish towels and stuff had been put away siem-damp, which is apperently a mold hazard. So we had to wash and dry them all over again. I really don`t like our dryer. It doesn`t work to great. You generally have to run it twice. So much for saving energy.

Dinner was salmon cassorle with a tofu version for Michelle, who is a fishitrainie. (............she doesn`t eat seafood the same way a vegitraine deosn`t eat meat...) We also put out a fruit plate with watermelon, apples and oranges. The salade had lettuce (no duh.) , raddish, apples, and a little taste of strawberry. >//<  Our dinner guests were Pauline, and one of Chris Francophone Nurse Friends (.....yeah, apperently chris is kind of a Ladies Man?)

Now, when you are house manager, you don`t have to do the dinner dishes. So while those were being done, I went out back and chilled on the deck. I even got to partice my French by talking with Chris` friend. XD

Then Pauline gave us an other Cree Lesson. (she is still awesome!) Unfortunalely, she`s goning away on vacation for two weeks. Great thing for her, bit sad for us. (.....O.o ........I still haven`t done the homework she gave us........oops.)

Then the bread I started earlier was done. And I am really thankful Gordon remebered it was in the oven, or it might have bruned to a crisp before I noticed.............. --" But as it is, the bread had awesome crinkle!!!! (you know, when you squeeze bread to see if its good. .....remember Rataoutille?.........there you go! or maybe not..........)

The Cree lesson finished up aroun 10:30pm

Tmorrow Talia and I will try to finish the weekly tasks, and TMSI is supposed to come over.

Oh yeah! And because its August now, and this is our French rotation, every over meal is gonna be a french meal!!!!! >///< YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cisasibi Week Five: Day 4: Aug 7: Pow-Wow Cont.: The Non-Navtive Dance Compition

Woke up at 7am, had toast with butter and melted chcolate chips, which is so not healthy but is SO awemazingly good. >//< I also ate some Hamburger soup than had a shower.

Then we had our 1st ever edition of mourning CCk, which was surprisingly chill.

Then I helped Michelle make grilled cheese sandwhiches for lunch, some of which had meat in them, and some scrambled eggs.

Now, we were supposed to have free time in the afternoon, and go back to the Pow-Wow that night, but the guys form the Pow-Wow wanted our help earlier in the day, so we switched our free time, and headed off to the Pow-Wow for 2:30pm. I bought a barcelt for $10, and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! (its even got this kind of cross-looken`-thingy on it XD) We did some clean up liek yesterday, which I forgot to mention. We basically go around and switch out the garbage bags, sweep, and we ended up doing some mopping today........which might have been my fult. --" (I mopped something up `cause it was really messy, then apperently Michelle and Justin got asked to do some mopping, and I don`t think they would`ve been asked if I hadn`t done any earlier........)

Then it was time for the Non-Native dance compitition!!!!! XD Everyone (except Julia) Participated in the 1st round. We even called over Laura-Lee form TMSI. After we danced (it was super trying!!!!), they had us all stand in a line, facing forward, and did that thing where they hold something above your head and people cheer.  It was SO nerver racking, espically when the cheering got super loud!! I ended up in the top four, but they only wanted three winners, so we had to dance again!

But man!!!!! They really make it look easy!!!! I was SO sweaty by the end of it! And I almost fell over a couple times. (but don`t tell anyone that ;D ) Anywho, The style I tried to do was the Fancy dance, which might have been one of the harder ones, but it looks more impressive. XP

I won second place! Brandon won 3rd, and Luara-Lee won 1st!!!! ( So if I hadn`t called her over, I would`ve won. XP LOL)  Anyway, I was given $80, but when you are in Katimavik, you aren`t supposed to except any money, won, earned, or otherwise. But Chris went all nice and let Brandon I keep half, while we gave the over half back so they could host more spot dances that night.

While Chris and I returned the money, Laura-Lee did a bit of a victoria lap, and some even gave her a shall to dance with!!!!! .......Alright, I was jaelous. But you have to admit dancing with an actual shall would`ve been so cool!!!! But I was happy for her, and she had fun. ^.^

Oh yeah, the whole time, there were these groups of guys doing traditional singing and playing the drums. There were like 5 groups and they all took turns. There was also a team dance competeion! We got to see that. ^_^

Then we participated in a circle dance thingy. Then the official dancers went back at it, and we got ready to head out. Just as we were heading out the door though, we had to stop, and got to watch a Feather Gathering Ceremony, (it was called something like that) because someone`s eagle feathers fell off and touched the ground, which eagel feathers aren`t supposed to do, because they`re holy, or spritiual. Whichever.

Anywho, as we headed home, we got to see Kate form TMSI, who had been hospitalized the day before. She seemed to be doing okay. Well......she was mobile in any case.

At home, one of the guys went and pricied his ear. Well, one the girls did it for him, and they weren`t SUPPOSED to do it, but, well, the people here aren`t supposed to do a lot of things and they do them anyway........... *sighs*

Dinner was dirty chili. It was really good, but I had one spoonfull and knew I couldn`t have very much without hruling. They put in a TON of spieces. The kind I can`t ate.

Then we had free time. Chris took off before dinenr started, and dinner truned into this.....well.....it was  kind of touch and go there for bit. I`ll tell you later when I get home. It`s complicated and we don`t want it on the internet now do we. ^.^ (*rolls eyes*)

Anywho, people started taking off after dinner, and I ended up doing dishes.

Then I spent the next 4hrs, talking and reading poetry aloud with Michelle, Later joined by Gordon and Justin, and even Catherine( but she didn`t stay long. ) It was so much fun!!!! And they like my writing XP Espicailly Michelle. I think she and I get along really well!!!! I hope we stay friends. ^_^

then we all got to try some of Gordon yam-raisins-red river bread, which was really good.

I finished The Golden Spruce. Man, I wanna go the Charoellets now!!!! Anywho, Gordon might read the book next, Brnadon gave my a book called Blood Bothers to read. And I was slwo on the up-take, so Justin is gonna read Julia`s Wolves of Time book 1st. But I did read the porlogue and it looks like a great book!!!!

I am house manager tomorrow!

Chisasibi Week Five: Day 3 : Aug 6 : Pow-Wow

Slept in till 11:30am. Breakfeast was left over hamburger soup, and I think I ate something else but I don`t remeber.....

After that, I helped Michelle make frnch fires for lunch. (Circles!!!!! Just like at home XP Only, we backed them in the oven instead of frying them *shrugs* they were still circles!!!!! XD)

Lunch was french fires, salade, and fresh bread with butter and jam. Later I snacked on bread with PB.

the afternoon block was the French activity, labing the house!! (rolls eyes). we started with an energizer game, that was really fun, (I almost won XP) and the labing actually went farily well.  There was a LOT of green tape up by the time we were done. It was really funny too, `cause we had one group upstairs (mine) and another downstaris. Near the end, Talia comes upstairs completely COVERED in lables for all the baody parts. It looked pretty funny! Then Vince and Michelle made a poster and we transfered all the labels over.

Then Gordon and I pretty much made dinner FOR the house managers. (..........yeah........) I got a little annioyed, but Michelle is having a really rough time. She feels a little unnder the wheather and keeps getting nose bleeds `cause she`s not used to such dry air.

Dinner was pizza and some sliced strawberries.

Throughout the day, I was readint the Golden Spruce, and I know I`ve said it already, but I`ll say it again anyway. Non-fiction!! Who knew?!?

After dinner, we donned our green Katima-Ts and headed over to the Pow-Wow. We checked out the vendours, and there was one really good stand. I`m debating wheather or not to buy a ring or a barcelt tomorrow. Then we got to see all the dancers do the "Grand Enterance." It was pretty cool, almost like a parade. the dancing is kinda hard to describe, and they make it look a whole lot easier than it is!!!! (trust me, I tried it!) BUt the costums were so cool!!! The girls were covered with embordiary and beads (so much beading!!!!) and everything was so colourfull and beautiful!!! Even most of guys! And oh my goodness!!! There were so many egal feathers!!!! Of course, there were different costums depending on the type of dance they were doing. ( there was traditional, jingle (girls only), fancy, and grass (guys only)...... i think that was it.....)

We stayed till they sent everyone home around 11:30pm. We even got to participate in some dancing (spot dancing contest, you win money and the floor`s open) It was really good partice, and you got to dance along side some of the really good dancers, which was helpful for learning. Chris says that we are gonna have to dance tomorrow in some Non-native dance compition.......>//< I`m a bit nervous but also really excitied!!!

Then we, (Chris, Gordon, Talia, Catherine, Brandon and I) all got in the van. Now there`s a lot of major road work going on right now. We had to take a detour, and ended up stuck at a dead end. We tried follwoing another van, but they lead us onto the Quad trail!!! It was so funny!!!  I laughed the whole time.  (.....so this is when it happened. I knew I would`ve written it down. I`m gonna go back and fix that other entery where I got mixed up. See! It was just so funny I couldn`t wait to tell you guys. *rolls eyes* sorry, I`m just a bit wierd XP)

Anywho, we got homw at 12:12am, and now I`ma go to bed.

(Chris wants to have CCK at 10:30am tomorrow....haha......)

(or maybe I didn`t mess up the bit about the quad trail......... I can`t find it anywhere else.......arg!!!!! this is what I get for being so far behind T.t)

Chisasibi Week Five: Day 2: Aug 5: Last day of Summer , the 80s Gala, and Northern Lights

Breakfeast was oatmeal, red river with chocolate and puffed rice. Blogged 4 enterires. (Not these ones `cause I am SO far behind! *sighs* I ia trying to catch up but we are just so busy!!!!!!)

Anywho, at work we went to the pool, and I read more of The Golden Spruce, and I mean really!!!!!!! Non-fiction! Who knew!!!! It is such a page truner!!!! I`m a slow reader, it`s my 3rd day of consistant reading, and I`m already half-way through!!! And this book is by no means an easy read! Oh! and it mentioned the town of Hazelton, which is where Justin is from!!!! XD

My lunch was rice, pork and nova alerfado sauce. I also had a granny smith apple, an orange, and one of the kids gave my half of a grilled chesse sandwhich. XD

After that, all the kids played clump, (That game where you walk around, they yell a number, and you have to get in a group with that many people or you are out.), had a dance off, played freeze dance, and gave away prizes.

Now, the way Katimavik works, is that we have paper work and porfessionalism evealutions and stuff to do with our work parteners. As this was the last day of the Summer Camp (T.T) I brought in the from to do my Mid-rotation evaulation (the 1st half of the form) but Syenthia, who apperently didn`t really listen to what I said, filled out the whole from. But that`s okay, I can get a new one for the school. Anywho, I showed her the froms in the mourning, and she made some......well......not so nice comments, so I was expecting a horrible review, but I actually got a very postive one! ^.^ So that was all good.

On my home form work, I ran into a girl who claimed  that we met at Fort Goeger. I didn`t recognize her, but I don`t doubght what she said eitehr. --"

Once I got home, I found a very stressed out Michelle freaking out over dinner. I clamed her down, (envolved lots of hugging XP)  and helped clean up the stove, and got her back on track. Then I walked to the store, and bought us each a chocolate bar. (She paid me back..........*shrugs*) I also bought myself some ice cream, which is expensive here!

Dinner was hamburger soup, corn on the cob, and spanich-borcolli-chesse salade.

Then we were off to the 80s Gala in our Green Katima-Ts.  We did a lot of serving (taking food to table etc.), and a lot of clean up. At one point, I got invited by Brandon to go dance with the attendies, (Pauline and her friends >.<) and apperently my 80s dance move aren`t to shabby, which is great considering I wasn`t even alive in that decade. XD

Syenthia was there, and her childeren and some other kids from the day care showed up and did some dance perfromances. Bruce-Wayne also did his Micheal Jackson bit. Then the Katima-group did the YMCA (so much fun!!!!), except for Vincent, Justin, and Cindy, who all managed to get locked out on the roof with Nathan. Gordon didn`t dance with us either `cause he was trying to find a key to get them back inside. Not that the rest of us didn`t care!!!!! It just kind of..........

Well, anywho, we were luckly enough to get to eat the food they were serving, which was beef with gravy, scallop potatos (yes!!!!!) , couscous, beans and carrots. I was so shocked when we went around to get the garbage. Poeple were throwing away whole plates of food!!!!! *shakes head* I don`t care if they didn`t love the food, that`s just plain wastful.

We also got dessert, which was this awesome cake, and there was apple juice, and littel dishes full of candy and chocolates (hersay kisses).

At 11:40pm, a few of us were ready to head home, so we went outside. Then Michelle was all like "look up!" So we did, and apperently the Northern light were out. I couldn`t make them out thoguh. It just looked like a bunch of clouds and haze to me. I was so disapointed. We hung around for a while, and when I looked up again later, I could really see the Notheren Lights!!!!!!!! At 1st it was just this one really bright strip of vertical green light, but then the reat started to get brighter. We were at the Mitchwap Center too, so it was really picturesc with the Northern lights and a tee-pee in the for-ground.  Chris, Catherine, Michelle and I all watched for a good couple minutes, we even laid down of our backs so it didn;t hrut our necks. XD But man!!!! It was so cool. They really do look like a river of light, and the way they sway across the sky!!!!! Ah!

Finally, we all got in the van ( no one new joined us), but before we got home, Chris detoured to a spot where he thought we`d see the Northern lights better, but it was to cloudy, and we couldn`t go as far as he would`ve liked because of a wolf sighting, and we woud`ve had to cross a raveen thingy and the sawage level was too high.

BUt we saw bats.

Git home, and started to journal, but ended up goning out on the deck and chilling with Michelle and Chris for a bit. Then Gordon joined us, and the NOrthern lights kicked it into high gear!!! Like serious River in the sky, and we could see it DESPITE all the cloud cover. Man it was awesome! The whole thing made me think of that light show God made to show up Luminara that one time I went with my family. (You remeber, bright red sky, lightening, it was wicked.)

But now its 4min to 1am, and I need some sleep.

Chisasibi Week Five: Day 1: Aug 4: Epic Sunsets

I actually got up at 6:30am. Breakfeast was Oatmeal and chocolate.

Then I packed my bag for the beach day at work, and filled my new water bottle. Then I played some cards. Later, I relized I needed to do a load of laundry, so I started one, but I ended up runnign abit later usual. (not that I was "late" or anything. *rolls eyes*) On my way to work, I detoured to avoid a group of sketchy looking guys.

I mean, I really do like it hear. But I am starting to fear for my saftey.......just a bit.

At work, we played dodge-ball and tag, then headed for the beach. It was super windy, and a bit gray and cloudy, but still nice.

Lunch was left over quienwa with some rice, spices and chopped up peppers. I also had an apple and an orange.

Now, I`m pretty sure this was the day I picked blueberries for people at the house, but I didn`t write it down......... but yeah. I picked blueberries for the group on of the days we went to the beach. Which I thought was funny `cause I don`t even like blueberries. XD But really, I`d be an awesome gatherer. XP

Dinner was a Nova Alfraydo thing. Michelle claimed to have had issues with the salt content, but it all worked out!

Then we had our practice fire-drill. Haha. It went well. ^_^

then we all donned our Katima-Ts and went over to the  arena to help set up for the Pow-Wow only to find that they were done. ....Oops.

So then we went over to  Mitchwap center to say hi to one of Chris` friends, Josphe, who was helping keep the scared fire for the Pow-Wow.

Then we all went over to TMSI`s house(except Cindy) and met I guy named brad and watched a bunch of people get their heads shaved. (Vincent got a mowhawk XD)

Then I caught sight of the sky. From where I was, I could see a lot of light, and it lit up most of the sky. So, I wanted a better look. I walked, and found a good angle. And OMGGGGGG >//< it was awesome!!!!!!! Now I know why the Katimavik sun is orange and a perfect circle!!!!!! *sighs* It was so beautiful. The sky was full of yellows and pinks, on the clouds, and the sky itself was still a really nice blue.

Oh yeah. That, and the clouds were making a gaint cross in the sky.

Yeah. Cool. I know.

Anywho, I showed the sunset to Gordon (figured he`d apperciate it) and then Catherine came and joined us.  Then Gordon left, and Catherine and I had a very nice chat. (I tried speaking in Frnech for a bit and apperently I did pretty good.)

Then we all got caught in the rain. (catherine was right. You do feel a big gust of wind right before the rain hits. XD) So Catherine and I ran back to the group, only to cover the same distance when running back to the van. XD

Got homt and started journaling, but Chris said there was a lightshow, aka lightening, so I went outside and watched with Catherine and Gordon, who really weren`t into it. Then they left and Justin, Brandon, and Michelle came out.

I think Michelle and I are more on the same wave-length, `cause we both agreeded it was epic. Then they went in to make banana bread, so I came in to, and wrote some.

Went back outside. It was really windy, but the lightening had died out, and there was never any thunder to begin with. I finshed off some left over rice with Nove Alferado sauce.

.......Bed time!!!!!!

Chisasibi Week Four: Day 7: Aug 3: Talents Shows, Police Standoffs, and the Youth Center Curse

Selpt in till 7:15am. Breakfeat was oatmeal and chcolate.

So, um, a girl apperently got beat up outside of the Youth Center this morning......I was already in the building and didn`t go out to look.

But moving on, we spent the mourning at the Mitchwap center, and the kids rehersed for the talent show. Then we went to the pool, and I sat on the side and read "The Golden Spruce." (Really, non-fiction! who knew?! ....well Chris obvisouly but XP) I really love the book. It`s not really written in chronological order, but hey, makes it more interesting. XD

Lunch was cold oatmeal with oranges, apples and raisins.

After lunch we had more rehersals at the youth center, mainly dancing.

It was wried though, because today people kept asking me what was wrong, and if I was feeling okay. I don`t know about you, but I guess I wear my heart on my shelve and my professionalisum sucks. (that whole, "your personal shouldn`t impact your professiional"....) One person even asked me, "Were you evolved with that fight at the house"........yeah.......................

Anywho, the actual show went pretty well. Julia came down from the radio stationa dn prefromed. There was also refreshments for after the show, including cake. And I must sad, it is sad how majorly cake effects me mood. `Cause I only had one or two small pieces, and I was completely recovered from whatever had me down.......yeah.......>_< I also got another staff T-shrit (blue), a free sling bag (it is SO nice) and a free metal water bottel (......I know right?!)

For dinner, I got to go the the town`s resturant for the frist time. Now, they only time volunteers are excused from mandatory group/house meals are when they are invited to eat with their wrok partener. So, Lucky me and Talia!!!!!! XD So yeah, Syenthia was treating all the staff. I ordered a small poutine and a small pizza, because I wanted pizza and I wanted to try the poutine, but that was stupid, `cause the serving sizes were a little on the big side. So I really ate to much. (But I had the pizza with sour cream which was good.) Oh, and I relized I didn`t have any vegitables, like actually, so I asked Kyle if I could eat his celery, and he said yeah. (He doesn`t like vegetables. Typical 14yr old XP)

We were supposed to have Pauline over tonight, but she had to cancel. Instead, we all set out for the Youth Center. On our way there, we ran into a police primiter......apperently there was a drunk guy with a gun. I was alone at that point, (stupid me for trying to see which short-cut was faster) and Vincent disappeared for the rest of the night. Eventually we got into the Youth Center, only for it to close 5minutes later because it was too close to the house where the man was. So we called Chris and waited for 10mins while he came to pick us up.

But seriously! This makes it like the 5th time we`ve tried to go tto the youth center, and something always comes up!!!!!

I had an interesting conversation with Julia about pray.

ON the way home, we got a littel lost, and ended up driving on the ATV trail. I laughed the whole time we were on it. XD

Back home, I got my allowance (yeah!) and then I made more oatmeal for tomorrow. Everyone else watched "Hrut Locker", but I called Dad, and we actually talked about yesterday. I headed for bed at 10:49pm. (T.t I miss my sleep!)

Chisasibi Week Four: Day 6: Aug 2: The Emergancy House Meeting

Breakfeast was oatmeal.

Work was a failed atempt at icecream making. (OMgosh, i think its all still in the freezer at the school....O.o)

Lunch was PB/J, apple and an orange.

Work was a little bit of overtime to help decorate/set-up for the talent show.

Dinner was taccos.

And then we had the emergancy house meeting.............It was pretty rough. There was no where near as much yelling as I expected, and I was surprised to find that someone had an issue with me. (They were offened that I felt offened by their music, which is a circle that can just go on forever.) A couple other issues got disscused, but then some people asked to leave, like the whole thing wasn`t there porblem and it didn`t concerne them. And then everyone else wanted to leave bacause they though it wasn`t accomplish anything.

Now the last bit is what really got me. I couldn`t believe they were all giving up. I mean, even if we weren`t finding soild sloutions because people can`t help being stubourne and selfish, even just knowing about the issues has to accomplish something right? At least, that`s how I felt. And I don`t know, maybe it was because I was tried or something, but I was a baskect case for the rest of the night. (like actually. I was crying all over the place.....well.....just in the bedroom :P)

Anyway, I really had a hrad night after that. There was a lot of praying and crying. I tried calling Dad too, but the problem was what I needed was a hug, because I was incapable of talking about it at the moment. But It was nice to hear his voice and all.

Haha. Cindy gave me that hug I needed. Then I made my breakfeast (oatmeal/red river) for tomorrow so I could slepp in a little. Then Brandon gave me a hug, and everything was cool. (At least......between me and everybody....at least I think......)

But I cooked the oatmeal wrong, and I came out as just a mushy mesh.......XD

Chisasibi Week Four: Day 5: Aug 1

Up at 6:30am, showered, and made me some oatmeal for breakfeast. I also had some bread.

Wore my rain coat for the 1st time!!!! (....jumped the gun just a littel.....)

At work, we played tag-type games, and a couple kids smacked heads......actually quite a few kids......--"
We only had like 22, and around 4-6 got injured......anywho! then we went swimming and the pool seemed very empty. I got to waer flippers!!!!!! There was actually a pair that fit and it was so fun!!! YOu really do go super fast!

My lunch was a PB and honey sandwhich. I ate it ate the pool, so I was around fewer kids and closer to the soap. (Some kids have a paenut allergy.)

Back at the Youth Center, we played more group games, and there was a lot of running!!! After the kids left, Talia and I helped a littel with camper award nominations for end-of-year. The TV was also on, and some kids were watching Teletoon, or family channel......either way. I found out the Phineous and Frueb is a pretty good (aka funny) show.

.........I forgot what dinner was........oops.....

Anyway, then we had CCK, which pretty much blew up in our faces, and I feel really bad for Michelle, `cause it was her 1st one. Anyway, tomorrow there will be an "Emergancy House Meeting" (used to slove and expose group issues).

After the CCK feasco, Chris and I talked for a bit, and it helped me straighten my head out. Then I called home but neither Mom or Dad picked up.

Michelle and I did our French Movie homework (Bienvenu) and our Cree homework.

Then I called home again and actually got to talk with both my parental units. XP

Chisasibi Week Four : Day 4: July 31: MAMWEEDOW Cont.

There was a MASSIVE thunderstorm around, oh, I don`t know, 1am. The rain was just pouring down, and it was really loud aganist the canvas tent. That, and I believe that is the loudest I have ever heard thunder. Unfortunately though, I was to tried, cozy and lazy to get up and go outside, so I never saw the lightening, although I did see the sky light up.  (My new sleeping bag is just SO nice!!!!)

Anywho, after I finally fell asleep, I selpt in till around 10:30am. So much for that early wake-up call we thought we`d get to make breakfeast! And so much for seperating the boys and the girls!! I went to bed fairly early, so ot everyone had their bags set up. When I woke up, there were guys on either side of me! (Not super close or anything, but you know, still.) Oh yeah, and because it rained, all the stuff that people left near the fire in hopes of it drying......well, let`s just say the stuff was wrose off than it was before getting hung there.

It was a pretty slow day. Gordon, Michelle, Catherine and I went for a walk and took some pictures. Then I ended up falling asleep (with a milk carton under my legs.........someone even took a picture XP) Cathereni woke me up later, and she, Michelle and I were instructed on how to make bannock. one of the girls made hers with raisins, and it was a long and triing process. Espicailly because mine fell off the sticks. --" Well, almost. Louisa House saved the bannock for me, and in the end it was actually pretty good. (Louisa is such a sweetie!!!!!!! >//<) Now, the reason that we made bannock, was because we brought flour and crisco with us, because Chris said if we were gonna eat the food they made, we should contribute to their supplies.

It was bandana day at Mamweedow, and in the afternoon, Colette got back and loned me her banadana from that moring!!!! (She had gotten another one.) It was a nice brown one. >.< Seriously, people here are SO nice!!!!!

Dinner was moose stew with dumplings (AHHHHHHHHH!!!! >.<) fried raisin bannock, plain stick bannock, fried meat bannock, and a fruit salade that our group added watermelon to. There was also apple juice. ^_^

Then we went to the Big Tent and saw some live music, apperently they were parcticing for the Talent Show later that night. Julia even sang some. I ended up playing with some kids, some of whom I already knew, and apperently I entertain Gordon and Catherine with my expressions, behaviour, and dancing. We also helped set up some chiars for the talent show.

.........I also kinda ended up knocking one of the littel girls off the blechers and onto the floor( She was climbing up me from behind and, I didn`t notice and I went to stand up.) So I sat and hugged her till she stopped crying and got up and walked off.........yeah........

After the Big Tent, we went back to ours and strated packing/cleaning up, which envolved a lot of trips to a shed, in the rain........but it wasn`t that bad. XP

Then, since we had a few extra minutes before Chris wanted to leave, we ran back to the Big Tent in hopes of getting Julia up to sing. Eventually, she got up and sang. Then we all went back to the van and rushed to the ferry. There was a bit of a line, but nothing to bad.

For one reason or another, I ended up letting my hair down, and I was listening to "Fire It UP" rather loudly on my MP3 player. And on the ferry, you have to stand on deck for safty reasons, so I was kinda rocking out. ONce again, to the entertainment of Gordon and Catherine.

We got home at 10:30pm.

(My bloggin is like 1/2 a month behind!!!! I apologize. I will try to catch up!!!!)

Chisasibi Week Four: Day 3: July 30: MAMWEEDOW

So, we left 1/2hr late for Mamweedow, at 7am, because people like waking up late. Chris got upset with me for doing the dishes that were left in the sink form the night before. He kept saying things, "You step up too much." and whatever. *sighs* I see his point to, but that morning I thought it was just more important they got done so we could leave.

Fort Georger is WAY closer than I thought it would be!! To get to the island, you have to take this little 5-car  river barge. The ride takes 5 minutes.

When we got to the place where the Big Tent was, the whole group went for a walk. We saw an old abbanndoned church (very cool), and a newer one. we also saw the foundation that the Roman Catholic chruch currently in chisasibi was originally on. We also walked through the graveyard. then we all headed to the beach, and found someone`s old fire. We recindeled it and hung out for a bit. Gordon truned some grass and roots into rope. It was neat.

Back at the tent where we would be sleeping (it wasn`t a mithcwaup, but an enlongated version......I forget the name....), which belonged to the Women`s Group, we helped lay down fresh pine boughs for the floor. (They all have to go the same direction.) Unfortunately, we ran out. So we all piled into the van and went to get more, which was a good thing for us, because we learned how to....harvest boughs, and we will need some for our own Mitchwap.

When we got back, it was time to help with the cooking.

Oh! By the way, each day at Mamweedow has a theme. today was speak Cree day. And on wednesday' Pauline had showed us how to intorduce ourselves in Cree. Luckily though, they weren`t very stirct about it, and still talked to use mostly in English, although we did try to use what little Cree we knew.

Anywho, we got to help cook TONS of meat!!!! There were Tarmagines (White Brid), which we boiled, Beaver and Goose, which we spun-raosted over the open fire, and Fish,  but it got fryed on the camp stoves. XD

But as much as I like meat, walking into a tent and seeing all those dead animals and all that blood.... *shudders* It was notpleasant, but I got over it. Then I helped Louisa make toast for some kids while we waited for them to finish butchering the meat.

After the toast, I went outside and helped split wood. one guy named Norman said you needed to "know your log" in order to chop it porperly. So mine was named Mari Spruce (yes I actually named her, and she was beautiful! Ah!) Then I killed her in two swings. Best of the group.  XP

Then Louisa called me back into the tent, and I hepled her skin the beaver tails and de-hair the feet. (There pictures!!!! I just need to friend my group mates on Facebook.........yeah......)
It was pretty neat, but when I started working I had my blue volleyball sweater on, and we were sitting right in front of the fire..... it got really hot. And I couldn`t even take my sweater off `cause my gloves were all covered with raw meat grems.......*sighs* I managed though, despite getting really sweaty.

Lunch was kind of pathetic. We didn`t plan our back-up meals very well. But we I did get to eat was fruit (cherries, plumbs, apples, etc) veggies (bell pepper) and a slice of bread with Peanutbutter on it.

One of the guys also gave me a piece of beaver meat to try. It tasted pretty good, but I overchewed it and had to spit it out because I couldn`t swallow it.

Haha......Catherine and I got called snaits by Chris......haha.......

After lunch (this post is gonna be SO long. IT takes up 6 pages in my journal --"), Chris split the group up into groups of five, one to work, and the other to take an hour break. I was in the 1st group on break, along with Gordon, Catherine, Michelle and Vincent, who went for a walk by himself. Chris took the rest of us near the beach, and we got to try out his "kite", which was more of an exterm sports para-sail thingy. But it was still really cool!!!!! And despite crashing 3times at the beginning, I cuaght on farily well. Of course, that was all after he spent like 10 minutes untieing knots. XD
I also braided Michelle`s hair for her. XP

When our break ended, we went back to the tent and turned the beavers. They were done, so they got taken down and then about 20 geese got strung up. I had this own goose, and it was just so beautiful. It was diffently my favorite. Unfortunately, I couldn`t think of A name for it that would be as cool as Mari Spruce. XD

I even got to flip on of the geese!!! They hang from string over the fire, and the string wraps around the ends onf a stick that is stuck through the brid. To flip it, you have to grab the string, pull the brid away from the fire, unwrap the strings from one end, the wrap them arpund the other stick stick in the other end of the brid. Unfortunately, the brid I truned over only had one stick, so the process got even more complicated when I had to shove another stick in it. I`m pretty sure I whipped all the flavour off the brid with the oven mits. That, and my recation was so bad! I had to lean over the fire for most of it, and I fumbled a bit, so I had to stand there longer. My face was burning! So went the brid was finally up, I basically threw myself to the ground, as close to the wall and as far from the fire as I could, and covered my face with my hadns..........It made me relize how "white" I am......--"

We truned geese for 2 1/2 hrs.

Then I went down to the river with Gordon, Catherine, Michelle and Chris. I was the camera-woman while Gordon, Chris, and Michelle all went for a swim. (yes, the water here is frigid.) After the 1st round, they were talking about doing an other, and then Catherine said she`d try it!!!!! So they all went in for round two and I took more pictures. It was great!

Then we headed back for dinner, which consistened of all the meat we cooked, and a dessert of a dought (I got two,`cause I got one right after we got back to the tent from the lady who brought them), and two pieces of bannock(the pan baked kind, and one was brown).

But anyway, while we waited for the line to subbside a littel (a LOT of people showed up to eat), chris and I got to have a nice little chat. We kept letting the locals in front of us, and then Louisa called us in because she needed more "help." so I rolled up my shelves, all ready to help, and its truns out she didn`t actually need any help and just wanted us to eat, so she had us jump the line.

Unfortunately, I didn`t enjoy dinner all that much. I found the meat was all really dry and tough, and you got a Lot on your plate! I guess I was lucky to get some of every kind. Surprisingly, I like the fish best (I even ate the skin:P). It was the same fish that gave Talia an allergic reaction and had her hurling for the rest of the night.

The people here are all super nice and friendly. >//<

Then Luoisa gave me a piece of breaver tail to try, (chris siad to have it with slat, which I did) and I feel so bad! becsuae I put it in my mouth, and gagged. I couldn`t help it!!! And, of course, she would see me do it! She didn`t act offened, but she did bug me about it. I swallowed it though! I did!!!!! Anywho, I wonder if the beaver tail is anything like eating slugs.

then Chris gave me Colette`s portion of dessert that she didn`t want, which was awesome, `cause I was saving mine for later, so I got to have my bannock and eat it too!!! XD

Now, throughout the day, half of the group did more work then the other, so the "slackers" were made to wash dishes. No plates, just serving stuff. But, life being what it is and people being who they are, there was some tension that bulit up. If a war ever gets started in this house, it will be bloody. (Metaphorically speaking.)

then we helped blow up ballons, which were supposed to be for the Miss Tiara pagent, but they never got taken over.

After that, I walked to the river to get more water, because the group on dishes had missed some, and we were out of water. When I got back, people were all surprised that I`d gone (it was drak out by the way), and for a second, I thought I had fallen for one of Chris` " I`m seriously being sarcastic" jokes. But in the end it was fine, `cause they really did need the water.

After that I went over to the Big Tent with Louisa, Chris and Colette, and caught some of the square dance competition. But I was super tried, so I went back to the tent and just went to sleep.

And oh my goodness!!!!!My slepping back is heavenly!!!!! ^//^

Chisasibi Week Four: Day Two: July 29

Today was VIncent`s B-day!!! I think he truned 19......

Today I slept in till 8am. It was SO nice! Breakfeastw as oatmeal/red-river with apples and grapes. (A healther version :P)

At work, we went swimming, which was okay, except that the kids really do use you as a jungle gym, and they grab at your neck, which really hruts.

Lunch was soup(tomato/rice), an apple, and then some stuff the kids gave me. XD Afterthe kids were all done eating. I helped clean up the lunch room and put the tables away.

Then the kids played relay races, and had dance partice for the talent show next week.

When I got home, I read the Bible for a bit.

Dinner was irce, and this weird "salad" thing that was comprised of lettuce, tomatoes and sunny-side up eggs, and some littel pieces of meat. ........I didn`t like it at all......But Melony and her son came over for dinner, and Melony brought homemade doughnuts, which were super good!!!! They were just plain ones, without any sugar, but still!!

I got called for dishes, and they took exactly 1hr, just like I thought they would.

Then we had a quick meeting about what we needed to pack for our over-night stay at Mamweedow, and we got our green!!!!! AKA, the Katima-T`s are in the house!!!! XD

Chisasibi Week Four: Day One : July 28

Today I woke up aroun 6:40am, and I relised that the reason I wasn`t hearing my alarm was because I had muted ALL the sounds on my phone.........

Anywho! Breakfeast was PB and honey on bread (I found honey!!!! >//<) Then I tried making some oatmeal, but, due to some confusion as to which bruner I was using, the pot started to boil over, so I added the salt that the recipe called for. Only I added WAY to much. But, I managed to eat it all anyway.

On the way to work, I got "attacked" by this little black dog. I don`t think it would ever bit anyone, but man that little guy is friece.

Work went alright. Syenthia replaced Summer, but I still did most of the actual work.

Lunch was more cold fryed rice with tofo in it, a pear, and an apple.

The kids at work were really good today, and in all the age groups too!!!! The 10-13s even got a liget lesson in experimental design (curtesy of yours truely), and I even got assignments handed back to me!!!!! ....................and people told me I should be a teacher....haha......

After work. it was raining outside, so I decided to sprint home (why not?)

Dinner was tariyaki salmon (very little), asparagus (very skiny), and a mock napa salad. It was an okay meal, except for the fact that there was this sauce, and it got on everything! So it all tasted thesame, and my lips went numb.

We were supposed to go to the Youth Center tonight, but they are closed for mamweedow, so we got free time, and I am SO glad I brought a camp song book with me! >.< We had wanted to go to Mamweedow tomorrow ourselves, (the friday) but the higher ups don`t think we`ve earned a day off work yet, So we will just be going on Saturday and Sunday.

Anywho, I decided to make some oatmeal/red river tonight, so I could sleep in a bit more tomorrow and still have breakfeast. Bouze came over. I let him in, and he went downstairs where everyone else was watching a movie, but then he came back up and kept talking to me and circleing the table.......

After Bouze left and the oatmeal was done, I had some with chocolate chips and peanutbutter, then did dishes.  Then I called Mom`s cell and got to talk to everybody at home.Emily even said Hi.......then said Bye.......immeadately after.......

Part way through the phone call, while I was talking to Dad, Chris came back, but I had locked him out. Instead of using the key, he started tapping on the window. It totally distracted me from the phone call and even freaked me out a little. Then i saw it was Chris and let hime in.:P

In anycase, it was super nice to talk to everyone. I`m a bit miffed that I`m missing the mini Gittens family reunionand the international fireworks competition though....

Chisasibi Week Three: Day Seven: July 27: Beach Day

Woke up at 7am, which is really lucky for me, because my alarm keeps failing to go off. Either that, or I`m snoozing it in my sleep......which is weird......

Anywho, breakfeast was last of the pre-made red-river/oatmeal with chcolate chips (they are drak chcolate btw), some bread with PB and J, and the leftover bit of my blood orange from yesterday.

Then I packed my bag for the beach!!!!!

At work, we strated with a game of planets (variation of dogheball), and I ran to buy more water, and ended up getting some apple juice and a bag of starbrusts.

When I got back, they were playing line-tag, or packman. (That game where you can only walk on the lines on the gym floor.)

Then we were off to the beach! The bus ride was very bumpy, and I`m not sure if buses are even ment to go that fast.......Anywho, 20KM is really nice. It`s this rectangluar piece of sand (quite big) with picnic tables, and two chairs for life grauds. But considering that on either side of the ``beach`` the water lines goes right up to the grass line, I wonder if the beach was man-made......*Shrugs* I decided I didn`t want to go swimming, but I wore my V-ball shorts and went wadding.

But oh my gosh! The water was orange!!!! I`m not kidding, it was straight up orange!!!! Where I come from, water is blue, grenn, or clear, not orange. that, and when you kicked up the sand, it sparkeled like gold. It looked super cool. (As such, I spent over an hour kicking up sand and the like........XD)

Lunch was left over fried rice (which I took `cause I knew it would be okay cold) and an apple.

They brought the sterio too, so the tunes were pumping the whole time, but there wasn`t much dancing. (There was some.) There was even a parachute that we tried to use, but it was too windy and it kept getting blown out of peoples hands and into other peoples faces (like mine, `cause I was on the wrong side of the circle).

Later, the parachute got put back in its bag and was just lying on the sand, I spotted it from the picnic table and it looked like a pillow. So I set up my towel next to it and used it like one. .......and I fell asleep.....I think one of the reasons I`ve been falling asleep so much is because I`m sick, so any spare moment I have, my body tires to take advantage of. *shrugs* That`s what I`m guessing.

Oh yeah! I also spent sometime trying to ancher down an umberla and keep it from blowing away (as I said earlier, it was VERY windy), and the wind was effectively sand-blasting us.

Anywho, I got woken up by some of the kids, and helped clean up all the stuff, then we got back on the buses and went back.

I got home around 4:30pm, had a shower, and helped the house managers with some stuff. I also got a load of laundry started, which was really good for me `cause I have no pants left.

Dinner was shrimp stry-fry with maccoroni noodles and veggies. We also had potato wedges like yesterday`s. I really like them, and they have some kind of veggitable salt/spice mix thing on them.

I hate to say it, but I`m starting to actually like tofu. It`s weird that we are even so much of it here (what with it being rare and expensive), but I guess it`s because Talia`s a vegetrainie.

Our dinner guest were Pauline, Nathan, and Melony.

After dinner, our activity was Pauline giving us a cree lesson. It took me a while, and apperently I started stressing out, but I got it in the end. The problem was that I got to hung up on spelling (she was teaching us the sybalic writting system) when the language is pretty much all phonetics. I think I`ll like Cree alot. ^.^

And Pauline is still totally awesome!!!!!

Michelle also relocated to the downstaris bedroom after all (yeah! more closet space XD), and she is very chill. Well, maybe not chill, but she gets excited and stuff the same way I do. We are going to be splendid friends. :P

Chisasibi Week Three: Day Six: July 26

Was woken up at 4:30amish by another leg cramp, left leg again. It hurt till I rememebr to lay it flat. Then my alarm got snoozed before it went off, (don`t ask me how), luckly I still got up on time and had a shower.

Breakfeast was oatmeal/red river with chocolate. I also had some blood orange, which freaked me out, `cause it looked like an orange on the outside, but when I cut it open it looked like a grapefuirt. I was inches away form trying to eat it with brown sugar when Gordon came up and said it was a blood orange.

When I got to work, I founsd out that Summer couldn`t make it in today. She handed me a lesson plan, then left. but the lesson plan was totally usless, because there isn`t anywhere in town that sells Borax.  So I headed over to the school, and actually managed to get a lesson plan together for the day. I waited for 30 mins, but no kids were shwoing up. Finally, Talia came to get me, saying that Syenthia had decided to merger all the groups together becasue we had so few kids due to Mamoweedow. And Summer had apperently quit.

We played doge ball in the gym, then we went skating at the arena, which is right next to the Youth Center. I don`t have any skates, and the arena doesn`t rent them, so I couldn`t go skating. So I just drew in my sketch book (I drew a wicked tree that took almost an 1hr) and entertained the other kids that weren`t skating.

Lunch was leftover sloppy joe meat with bread, and a pear.

Then we had the hoola-hoops and ropes bit. After that, we split the kids into two groups, 6-7s went to the radio station, and the 8-9s and10-13s went to play kickball (which they call soccer-baseball) at the school. I went with the second group, but it was super hot outside, so after one round the game kinda died. I did run into TMSI, and they invited my group to play Man hunt again and Capture the flag at the school. Apperently the e-mailed Brandon.

Back at the Youth Center, they set up the Justin Beiber movie, ``Never Say Never,`` so I ran back to the school to try and get a phone number form TMSI so it would be easier to get in touch, but none of them knew a phone number. So they said to just e-mail them back. I also lreaned that the school is really big.

The JB movie, what Is aw of it, was actually pretty decent. It was made in a more documentary style format, but I really liked the footage from the Madison Square Gardens concert. I wasn`t aware that JB was such a dancer XD

Tomorrow, wrok is headed to 20KM (kilometer 20) AKA, the beach!!!

Back home, I was reallt tired out, so I went into my room, but I didn`t want to expened the energy to climb up onto my bed, so I just laid down on the floor and listened to my player.

........And I fell asleep......for almost an hour.....

Oh yeah! Michelle`s lauggage had gotten lost, but it showed up today, which was awesome.

Dinner was chicken balls (some of which weren`t fully cooked..... they were very googy) with some asian veggie thing (like styr-fry)  and fryed rice with tofu. We had Bouaze, Nathan and Cloette eating with us. (Cloette is a nurse.) My mane got dranw for dishes.

Tonight is free time, so I tired to get to bed ``early, `` at this point it is 9:07pm.

Oh! Today I found out that Chris REALLy like ninjas. He even went on his own little ninja rant when some people in the group said it might be possible for a samuri to beat one. XD

Chisasibi Week Three: Day Five: July 25: Nova Scotia Arrives!

Up at 6:30am, made me some oatmeal with red river and chocolate. Took me around an hour. Then I packed my stuff for work, but not my swim stuff, `cause I felt sick and didn`t want to spread my grems around in the water and get everyone else sick!

Chris walked with me to work to do some paper work with the work partner. That finished up pretty quick though. Nothing complicated.

Then I was helping out again in Sceince, and we ended up late for swimming `cause we forgot what time we needed to be back at the YOuth Center by. (We thought it was 10:30 but it was really supposed to be 10:10......oops)

At the pool I read the Wizard of Oz, which I found at the house. I think Mom must have read it to me at some point, `cause I have a vauge recollection of some of the parts. I really enjoyed readin it, although the fact that the Scarecrow, Tin-woodsman and the Lion were asking for things they already had REALLY bugged me. So maybe I`m a littel old to be reading that book :P

Back at work, the only eventful thing was that Summer soaked me when she tried (and succeeded) to pop a water balloon with a lighter.

Syenthia invited all the staff to dinner today. Wich is sweet because the only time we are excused form house meals is when the work partner asks us to eat with them XD

When I got home, Nove Scotia was downstairs and Chris was showing her the ropes. Her name is Michelle (told you so!!!!) and I found her very pleasant. Today truned out to be her B-day too. (Which is so funny, `cause after I met her I went upstairs and thought ``We should ask her when her B-day is. WOuldn`t it be funny if it were today?`` and then almost right after, someone told me that it was, in fact, her b-day!!!!! XD She truned 18.

I did some dishes.

Dinner was sloppy Joes. They were super good, a little on the sweet side,  but that was chill. It was also really lucky becuase they are Michelle`s favorite XD Unfortunately, some of the buns were REALLY hard, and instead of saving them to cook in soup or something (to soften them up) they got thrown outside! There was also a cucumber-mayo salade and veggie platter.

Next, we were off to Jean Noel`s for a French movie. He had picked out a flim for us called ``Welcome.`` I won`t say anything about the story, but you should check it out. Although the eneding is really sad, but hey! That`s how life happens.

But, of course I would cry, and everyone laughed about it. I have a felling watching movies with this gruop will be............I don`t even know actually.

Then we went home and had Michelle`s B-day cake, which was carrot cake with icing.

Chisasibi Week Three: Day Four: July 24

Slept in till 11:30am, so breakfeast was lunch, and that was fritters made with corn or baccon. (But therer weren`t as many as I was expecting T.t but what we had was very good.)

Our afternoon activity was playing with the neighbourshood kids, which went really well. It envolved a lot of running. XD

Annoiance of the day was that one of the little girls said that one of the guys and I ``looked good together`` and he`s a great guy, but he`s got a Girl back home, so I wish people would stop saying that......It happens a lot.......

Anywho, When I got home I read my Bible and finished Exudous, but I`ve started skim-readin certain sections. I just can`t take all the insturtion!!!!! *sighs* anyway, so I`m not really readin the bible form cover to cover but *shrugs* at least I`m readin it right?

Dinner was tuos-qui soup. (Leftover-soup)

CCK went really well!!! It was quick (well, quicker) and everyone one seemed pretty happy with the end result.

Oh yeah, the theft scare is over, the missing possesion were returned. Hopefully nothing else happens.

I also think I`m coming down with a cold. It been going around for a bit already. After that I filled out some paper work for the work placement. It was on professionalism and stuff.

*Sighs* and I missed church again `cause I selpt in...........agh.

Chisasibi Week Three: Day three: July 23: French Meals, TMSI and Game Night

(A mishwap is the cree word for teepee.)

So, I woke up at 7am and tried to perpare some stuff for the 1st French meal, which was breakfeast. Everone else woke up late, inculding the person who was suppose to cook. That meant we started later (by 1/2 hr) and everyone just wanted to eat, so no one bothered to wait for me, or anyone else form the french committee, to actually explain what we hoped for/wanted to be done.

Breakfeast was pancakes.

I didn`t think it went very well. There was a lot of spoken french, but it was often form the same people. Anywho, everyone really liked Cindy`s cross-word (Great work on her part!!!) and they all thought it went well so *shrugs*

After that I was so tired I crawled back into bed, and fell asleep!!! I slept for a full hour, then woke up for lunch, which was Wetlez dogs again. This time I tried one of the ones with a spicy sasuage in it and it was SO good!!!! I ened up eating around four......

Free time followed, so Brandon and I went on a walk to True Value (the hardware store) to look for sidewalk chalk. WE didn`t find any there, but I did buy markers. We tried Notheren next (kinda like the north version of Walmart, but way smaller) but they didn`t have any chalk in this week. But since we were there, I bought some food stuffs, which was bad, `cause it cut into my baggage allowance for the return trip. --``

When we got back home, there was still a lot of free time left, so I blogged (not this entry :P) , read my Bible, and parised on the back proch.

Dinner was pizza, and I helped make it. The best part were the ten mini-deep dish pizzas we made in muffin tins. (Try it!!!!! it was so good!!!) We also had the TMSI group over for dinner, and they brought banana bread.

TMSI is another voluntree gruop that is here doing a camp for children with speacial needs. We kept calling them the ``TMSI girls`` so when I got the door before dinner and a guy was standing there yelling ``Cousins!!!!!!!`` and was very confused. He named turned out to be Tyler, forever know as ``Cousin Tyler.`` XP The others were Rebecca, Kate, Loura-Lee, Jordan, and Raya.

After dinner, we played the werewolf game, which I am gonna need to teach a group of people when I get home so we can play. It is so fun!!!! XD Maybe the Young Adults from chruch would be interested.

Anywho, we played the game for 3hrs. We started in the house, but then some one had the brilliant idea of playing in our new mishwap, so we did! We even got a fire going XD

Finally, we finished werewolf and it was time for the night`s main event, Man Hunt!!! The 1st round, I buddy systemed with Cousin Tyler, and we hid for the entier duration of the game and never got found! Which was sweet because people passed Super SUPER close to us XP Second round I buddy with Gordon, and whereas I was sort of the leader in the 1st round with Tyler, with Gordon, I was the follower. WE laid down and looked at stars and listened to the wind in the leaves (very cool!!) We didn`t get found that game either.

I had a lot of fun! And the TMSI group was great. I hope we have them over again.

I got to bed at 12:15am. (haha, so late)
